Qualities to Look for in a Cleaning Service

September 30, 2018 By Frances Wells

Our homes are the living heaven. For the same reason, everyone tries their best to keep it the best way possible. However the in the busy life we couldn’t actually give in much efforts to keep the house best way possible. With the daily regular chores, the basic cleanliness of the home gets ignored.

With children all around the house, the cleanliness becomes more of a concern. Children are more likely to scatter things, drop and spill all over the house. This makes the house unclean and untidy. If you are too busy to get the cleaning done then you can always call for a cleaning service to get that done for you.

While there are so many Simple Maid Cleaning Services that are available, it becomes difficult to know the one who would be perfect for our homes in South Australia. Here are some of the qualities that would help an excellent cleaning services should have. In addition, you can also consider these qualities before finalizing a cleaning service.

Reliable Reference

If a cleaning service is worth it then you would find references to it. If the cleaning service has been in the area for a long time then you would be hearing how good they are from the neighbors or person who has used their services in Adelaide.

In the online era, the online reviews are also a place where you will their names in the top listed cleaning services. Their quality is reflected from their past services. They would also not be hiding or faking anything and would proudly showcase their talent.

Flexible Schedule

In this hectic world, no one is free. To take out the time from the busy schedule is a tough task. It usually can happen that the time you could provide might not match the timing of the cleaning provider. So it is important that the maid service you are looking for is being ready to help you out according to your time.

This is another quality that a cleaning service should be. They should not be stubborn with their time and should provide the customers with flexible time. While there are other services providers who support break-time services, which means that they distribute their working hours according to your convenience. If you are free in the morning and in the evening then they would come to clean your housing both the time.

Variety of Cleaning Supplies

The providers should be equipped with a variety of supply. It is practical that all the cleaning cannot be done with the same equipment. The broom isn’t the only cleaning requirement that is required. One has to make extensive arrangements to clean the stains and the scratches. The oily layers of the kitchen are very tough to remove.

Hence always make sure to provide knowledge about your house so that they can find and use the right on your carpets, tile and other objects. You should also ask and check the equipment that they would use to make the cleaning.

Insurances

Cleaning means moving of objects and hence drop and fall is common. This happens even with the most professional cleaner as well. Hence, that is not a great issue because an accident happens and no one has a say or does it purposelessly.  However, the cleaning service not having any insurance creates an issue. A good quality cleaning service provides should be bonded and should have insurance.

In such a case, the bonding will cover all the mistakes committed. Before you finalize cleaning services make sure to check their policies and the things the policy covers. The insurance makes sure that if any damage is made then the company would look up to make amend for the damage and the house owner hasn’t pay for it.

Quality Assurance

A good cleaning service makes sure to guarantee the customers its quality. No one would like to pay for a service that doesn’t have any sign of quality. Even if you have to pay less for a cleaning service that does not provide the quality you still would not like those services.

Look if the provider that you are looking for has looked confident when asked about the quality.

Conclusion

With the competition in the cleaning market, there are many providers who make their best in the business so that they are recognized. Hence you have to be sure that the one you are booking is worth it.

Important Home Remodeling Questions to Ask Your Contractor Beforehand

April 1, 2018 By Frances Wells

blueprint of home remodeling project

When planning for home remodeling, you cannot just pick any contractor to hire. You need to do research and be prepared with questions to make sure you get the right worker. If you have questions all along for the prospective contractor to answer, the latter knows that you are ready. Contractors prefer that you express your fears and concerns so they get the chance to address them.

Home Remodeling  Questions to Ask

However, from the many essential questions you need to ask during the hiring process, there are the most crucial ones. Check out the following questions below:

What is the payment schedule?

You know that you should not pay contractors in full up front, and a good contractor will not ask for it. Before any work is done, talk about payment terms. Know about the amount, specific payment dates, such as payment per work progress.

When will the project finish?

Timeline is important because time means money. Get a clear picture when the contractor can start and finish the job. If there are factors that may affect the schedule, you need to know.

How long have you been a contractor?

Contractors who have been in the business for many years have enough experience to your advantage. They may already have learned past mistakes and established an effective system to make sure they deliver quality work on time. However, contractors with an established name and good experience may not fit the budget. You may also start giving them a smaller project to know they are worthy and when satisfied with the service and skills, move on to a bigger one.

Do you have a license?

Of course, you do not want to deal with unlicensed contractors. Local governments have different requirements when it comes to businesses and hopefully, your contractor took the time and effort to go through all the needed channels to get certifications in their field. For instance, you cannot just get someone to work on your roof if his license is plumbing.

Do you have insurance?

Professional contractors are those who have both liability insurance and workers’ compensation. They can give you peace of mind that they are specifically insured for the work they perform, rather than having a coverage different from the job you hire them for. If you need a home remodeling contractor in Los Angeles for additional bedrooms or a custom home you own, reach out to Prime Construction Specialists, Inc.

Do you have warranty for the materials and service to use?

Contractors ideally have warranty or guarantee on their work. You should know its coverage and how long it remains in effect. Also ask a copy of manufacturer’s warranty for the materials used in your home if there is any, before the work commences.

Will you obtain permits for the job?

Not all jobs require permits, but home remodeling may need some, especially if it will change the structure of the house. The contractor should know the permits needed for the job, how to get them and is willing to pull them for you.

How will we communicate?

Ask the contractor how to reach them, especially after office hours or during emergency cases. You can actually exchange numbers so the contractor will be able to reach you as well. Communication should not be difficult between you and the contractor.

The Cost of Remodeling a House: Factors to Consider

March 10, 2018 By Frances Wells

The factors that go into the decision to remodel a house (as opposed to finding a new house altogether) can vary, but one of the principal factors is cost. The cost of remodeling a house will depend on which parts of the house you will choose to remodel. It’s often a good idea to plan out costs in advance, especially if you have plans to sell the house after it has been remodeled, or even if you’re planning to live in it for many more years. Knowing how much it will all cost will help you be strategic about how you go about remodeling the house.

House Size Measurements

The first factor you need to consider is size. How large is your house, or more specifically, how large is the area that needs to be remodeled? For areas that only need small repairs and new landscaping, the cost can land anywhere between 25,000 USD to 45,000 USD, whereas more complex upgrades that involve drilling into the foundation, fixing the roof or sewer lines can go as high as 75,000 USD or more.

Area of House to Remodel

Another factor that comes into play is the type of area you want remodeled. The fixtures in a master bedroom will differ greatly from the fixtures you have in the living room, and will cost more to change or upgrade. The kind of appliances you have will also affect the cost; the more high-end your appliances are, the more it will cost to fix or replace them.

The kitchen is the perfect example of this. For approximately 2,500 sq. ft, a minor kitchen remodel will start at about 10,000 USD, and climb from there, depending on the quality of materials used and how much work needs to be done. The bathroom, on the other hand, has a similar starting cost at about 9,000 USD, but for bathrooms with more fixtures (such as a steam shower), this number will naturally be higher.

Other areas that need to be considered, and whose individual expenses will add up to your total cost, are electrical updates to existing appliances, new floors and roofs, and replacing the house siding and windows. The contractor’s fee also matters. This is typically 15% of the total cost of the project. For a renovation that costs, 50,000 USD, the contractor’s fee can run anywhere from 5,000 to 7,000 USD.

How to save on Remodeling Project

One good tip is to strategize your remodeling project. Which part of the house needs to be prioritized at this stage, given your time and resources? Which part of the house needs to be fixed most urgently? A roof that is falling apart definitely takes the cake over installing a new reading nook in the den.

Another good tip is, when planning, choose a contractor well, one who has accumulated a good chunk of experience remodeling houses. This lessens the risk of having to fix new mistakes through the remodeling process. A good contractor will also have discounts on retail prices for materials, which should help lower the total cost of remodeling a house.
